Transitioning from "doer" to CEO requires a strategic and emotional shift. It's hard to hand over the "baby" you've built with your own financial investment, late nights, and hard work, but deep down, you know the only way to get to your long-term goals is to build processes and find people you can trust.
To help you scale your business, this month we are focusing on delegation. In this newsletter, you have access to articles, videos, and links to workshops, all designed to help you develop a plan to scale through delegation. The Path to Effective Delegation1. Layered Growth (The ACES System)The first step to becoming a more effective delegator is establishing a delegate process. We teach our clients the ACES approach. Here is how it works. Assess: Identify tasks to delegate and the people who can take them over. Communicate: Define the tasks you want completed, along with any key information related to each task. Empower: Share the "why" and give them the authority to lead. Support: Provide the resources they need to grow into the role safely. 2. Right People, Right Tasks, at the Right TimeTrue delegation is a partnership, not a task dump. Delegation is easier when you assign tasks to individuals who have the interest, strengths, and talents to perform them to your expectations. Once you have the right person, pacing the transfer of tasks can reduce friction and help protect momentum within your business. 3. Build a Self-Sustaining EcosystemInvest in the people who want to grow. Every day, you and your employees have the opportunity to grow, learn new skills, and improve. Have transparent conversations with employees about desired outcomes and help them take action that aligns with those outcomes, building new competencies and capabilities. |
